Whoopi Goldberg was surprised to find out that she contracted COVID-19 during her vacation from “The View.”
“I left a couple of weeks ago, just before the break, because someone I had been with tested positive for coronavirus, so I left. I think I’ve been away a long time, “said Goldberg, who was wearing a T-shirt with the words” Over It “on it. told his co-hosts via video chat on Wednesday.
The 66-year-old comedian revealed that she had to undergo tests for the show and her results were positive, despite being careful around others and being vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
“I was really excited and, you know, they have to test us, so they sent people to test me, and they tested me, and it was like, ‘Oh no, you’re not coming back. We will not send anyone to your home. You have a crown. ‘ And it was like, ‘Wait what?’ ”He recalled.
Goldberg explained that “it was a shock” as she was “triply aroused” and had not “been anywhere or done anything” outside her home.
“But that’s the thing with the Omicron, you just don’t know where it is. You do not know where it is, who has it, who has it, “he said. “It’s one of those things where you think, ‘I’ve done everything I was supposed to do.’
Goldberg then reflected on the pandemic and said that COVID-19 is going nowhere unless people get vaccinated and spike.
“Yeah, it doesn’t stop Omicron, and that’s the problem with a variant, because it gets stronger and does different things to you. So, you know, unless everyone gets vaccinated, this is what we’re going to face for the next, you know, little time, ”he said.
Fortunately, Goldberg, who suffered a near-fatal outbreak of pneumonia that led to septic shock in March 2019, said she was not overly concerned about her health and was feeling fine.
“You can only do what you can do, and whatever your body decides it is going to do is what you have to do,” he said. “It could have been much, much worse, I’m sure, and it wasn’t. I’m very lucky “.
