Former British television host Piers Morgan said Meghan Markle has a “very unpleasant surprise” when she starts a regular newspaper column after losing her television performance last year for making vicious comments about Meghan Markle.
“The pushy Princess Pinocchio did her best to cancel me, and she will be in for a very unpleasant surprise when she comes out, like Lazarus, from my lair,” Morgan promised in comments Friday in Rupert Murdoch’s right-wing tabloid The Sun, where a regular column next week called “Uncensored”.
Morgan left as the co-host of the popular show “Good Morning Britain” nine months ago after he left the set when he was confronted with his numerous attacks on Markle.
He was furious then over Markle and her husband Prince Harry’s revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey about the racism they encountered in the royal family and about Markle’s struggle with suicidal thoughts.
Morgan criticized the “Good Morning Britain” interview as a “trash-athon” of the monarchy, calling Markle a liar.
“I don’t believe a word he says,” he sputtered into the air. “I would not believe her if she read me a weather report, and the fact that she has triggered this attack on our royal family, I think is despicable.”
He left the set the next day when he was confronted by his colleague Alex Beresford, who called him “diabolical.” Beresford also brought up Morgan’s strange fixation on repeatedly attacking Markle, despite the two being friendly at one time. They even went out for drinks before Markle met Prince Harry, Morgan wrote.
“In fact, I was censored at my previous job and told to apologize to Meghan Markle for an honest opinion, which I obviously wasn’t going to do,” Morgan noted in the Sun.
“It was quite a painful experience on ‘Good Morning Britain,’ but now I am working in a place where I am free to express my views,” he added.
Morgan has claimed that Markle was influential in getting him fired from “GMB.” But his comments were widely disparaged, especially by mental health organizations and experts who condemned Morgan’s arrogant rejection of Markle’s revelation about mental health struggles amid the pressure cooker of his life in Britain.
Morgan has since criticized gymnast Simone Biles after her mental health issues at the last Olympics. “Are ‘mental health problems’ now the excuse for any poor performance in elite sport? What a joke”He tweeted.
Morgan noted that his goal is to keep attacking Markle, as well as the “awakening culture,” in which people strive to be sensitive about things like racial, gender, and national origin differences, which he called one ” form of fascism. “
Morgan is starting her new job after a six-month stint with “long COVID” at her home in Beverly Hills, The Sun noted.
