Cowboys at Washington score: Live updates, results, game stats, highlights, TV, streaming for NFC East game

The time for pregame bulletin board material is over and the fight is at FedEx Field, but the Washington Football Team started out like the punching bag in their first battle of 2021 against the visiting Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott and the offense were able to capitalize on the game’s first drive by putting a field goal on the board from Greg Zuerlein, and then his defense went to work, launching rioters straight from the gate against quarterback Taylor Heinicke and putting on an early show for head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

With the return of Randy Gregory and Neville Gallimore For a unit that saw All-Pro passing running back DeMarcus Lawrence take the field back a week ago, the Cowboys’ defensive front is making Heinicke want to stay in bed. Gregory denied a Prescott interception creating a spike drill that then faltered for the first interception of his career, and Prescott rewarded him by driving down the field and finding four-time Pro Bowl receiver Amari Cooper for a touchdown. The defense then went back to work on Heinicke, with rookie phenom Micah Parsons burying Washington’s quarterback for a fumble that was recovered by defensive end Dorance Armstrong for a defensive touchdown, following a convoy into the end zone.

McCarthy then made a valiant two-point conversion call, and it was successful, and Washington was forced to try to climb out of an even deeper hole. However, they will have to figure out how to contain Parsons if they want to have a chance, considering the first-round pick sacked Heinicke once more to start the second quarter. There’s nothing Ron Rivera’s group can do on Sunday against Quinn and a mostly comprehensive – and seemingly deadly – defense for the Cowboys.
