Much uncertainty about the filming of the ‘Black Panther’ sequel, due, in part, to Letitia wrightThe Vaccine Status: Now Fans Are Wondering … Why not just relaunch T’Challa ???
Here’s the deal … reports have surfaced in recent weeks saying Letitia wants to get out of the Marvel Universe entirely, allegedly in response to the vaccine mandates they are imposing on Disney. One report claims that the writers actually had to rework the ending, one that was originally going to feature heavily to Shuri, due to this alleged ongoing issue.

Meanwhile, THR says Letitia is expected to resume filming in January, this after taking some time off to recover from a injury on set – but the outlet also recently reported that she was, in fact, spreading anti-vax sentiments with the people in the production.
In a since deleted Instagram post, LW completely denied that account. Still, fans think there is trouble in paradise and are now wondering why the producers wouldn’t get a new king of Wakanda … aka, replace Chadwick boseman with a new actor.

While many have argued that the mantle could not be assumed again, due to how deeply tied it was to Chadwick’s legacy, others say … actually, it could have … and probably should have, especially to the light of all the reported drama that is happening now. Now people say that the idea of tapping on a new T’Challa wouldn’t have been the worst.
One Twitter user writes: “I know this is a hot take, but much of this rumored drama on the set of Black Panther 2 could have been avoided if they just tweaked T’Challa. I know people loved Chadwick Boseman I did it too, but that character had more stories to tell. “

The plot is … the character of T’Challa deserved a lot more screen time and movies to himself, and that alone outweighs any perceived slight towards Chadwick and his memory by passing the torch to another actor playing the same character. .
By the way, all of this isn’t just a few people throwing hot shots online … there’s an entire hashtag dedicated to this movement, #RecastTChalla. Some even say that Chadwick’s own words in previous interviews support the idea that he would actually be behind it.

Of course, Marvel has been adamant that they will never have another T’Challa in front of the camera, and furthermore, at this point … they are knee-deep in production, and most likely will NOT. go down that path, despite the outcry from some of the fans.
Our guess (assuming any of these vaccine stuff is true) … Shuri doesn’t become the new BP like in the comics, and the helmet is passed on to someone else … not named T’Challa. Time will tell: ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is rumored to be out sometime in 2022.
